The Mooring Restaurant has been a fixture in the Northern Neck since 1965. Remember when dining out was an event to look forward to. Manager/co-owner Charles Santangelo took over operations in September 2005 and has elevated the dining experience to rival any in Virginia. The dockside views of the Yeocomico River are paired with wonderful service and fresh consistent food quality. Our guests find a level of comfort that brings them back to dine on a regular basis. "L'Approdo", the Italian word for The Mooring captures the feel of the new menu. We now have the BEST Italian/Seafood Restaurant in the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula. Chef Joey makes all of our bread and pizza dough on premise. We have a state of the art kitchen with pizza ovens made for us in New York. We grind our own sausage, make our meatballs and create our sauces. Our food is FRESH. This from scratch cooking approach has translated to the freshest and most flavorful food around.

The Mooring is unique in that it offers several different dining experiences.

• The main room of the Mooring is a glass enclosed restaurant with an incredible view built around the 'Sand Bar' which in itself is famous. This main room is a casual setting for fun and great food.
• The separate Virginia W. Room is named after our 105 year old skipjack moored here at Port Kinsale. The Virginia W Room offers an upscale dining experience and was voted the most romantic setting in the Northern Neck.
• The Buffet Area features an antipasto station and is also where pastas and omelets are created during the famous Sunday Brunch which runs from 9:00am till 2:00pm
• The Lucky Lady Deck is our alfresco dining area. It features the permanently moored Lucky Lady, a 54 year old Henry Luhrs boat that serves as our bar and gathering place. Live music fills the air on the weekends and the reputation is one of out and out fun.

Every day of the week a special event is happening at the Mooring. From the Famous Sunday Brunch, the wonderful Wednesday pasta night where you can get two pastas and a bottle of wine for $25.00 to the Monday Pizza night, there is always some great food to sample. We strive to give you the best possible value for your money. Finally, all the rooms of the Mooring Restaurant are non-smoking for the enjoyment of our guests. You can still smoke on the Lucky Lady Deck.
