Having read your article on Port Kinsale Marina, I would like to mention that I and my wife transited there over the Memorial Day weekend while delivering our boat, for the Summer months, to Hope Springs Marina in Stafford County. The meal we had at The Mooring restaurant there was one of the best I've had on the water. The crab cake will rival that of any restaurant I've eaten at on the Chesapeake Bay. The seafood buffet (I'm leery of buffets) served on Sunday was also wonderful. All the food was hot, with a steady stream of steaming hot crab legs steadily delivered from the kitchen to the buffet table was unexpected as most buffets allow crab legs to simply cool to room temperature. All-in-all, a wonderful experience and we will go back!

Dear Charlie,

On behalf of the Colonial Yacht Club, we would like to thank you and your staff for making our stay at Port Kinsale last weekend one of the most enjoyable times we have had this boating season. The marina is beautiful and very well kept. The Moorings Restaurant is outstanding. Pam, your bartender on the Lucky Lady, was ever so accommodating. Brad, your dock master, was helpful and friendly as well. Our members that stayed at The Skipjack Inn raved about it as well. Port Kinsale Marina is truly one of the best marinas in the Northern Neck.

Again, thank you for making our last overnight trip of the season a great success.

Sincerely,

Chris & Lynn Kelliher

PRYCA Delegate Report

THE PRYCA FLOAT-IN AT PORT KINSALE RESORT AND MARINA JULY 20,21,22

Hi All,

The weather during the Float-In could not have been better.  Cool winds and low humidity. Although somewhat unusual for the middle of July, it was very much welcomed.  The total number of club boats that attended was 68. with a total of 188 members and guests.

As the PRYCA Delegate of Westmoreland Yachting Association, I would like to extend congratulations and appreciation to everyone, Club Delegates, volunteers, and Club Team Captains that participated in making the past weekend the great success that it was.

I also think it appropriate to extend special thanks to Joe Livingston, the PRYCA Bridge, and especially Harald Seiler, Frank Erwetowski and Southern MAL Ruth Lovelace for all their efforts in planning, and implementing  this fun filled weekend.

Thanks also go to all the folks at Kinsale Marina for their attention to providing us excellent service, food and drinks.

This past weekend would not have been the enjoyable event that it was for our Club, if it had not been for Hope Jackson.  Hope did a fantastic job of organizing our Club events and participation in all of the activities. Hope and Les, your after Brunch get-together was a great "topper". Thanks again, for all your efforts to make it a memorable weekend.

Thanks to Commodore Norm Johnson for his leadership and support during the months leading up to this event.  He should also be thanked for his talent at the BBQ grill, and seeing that everyone was well fed.  Thanks also to Vice Commodore Bob Penwell ( "Cowboy Bob" ) for his valued experience and suggestions, and many thanks to all the wonderful ladies that brought all those tasty side dishes and deserts.

For those of you that could not make it this year, sorry we missed you.  Try and fit this event into your next year's calendar, you won't be disappointed.

Cheers and looking forward to seeing you all at the Float-In next year.

Jack

Hi Charlie,

I just wanted to thank you and your staff for the good time we had last weekend. There were only 2 boats but we had a good time and will work on more for next year. The food and service in the restaurant were great. The showers were as I remembered them (clean, well kept). Even the weather was good (I don't know how you do that). Thanks again. See you in the spring! This time I will fly the Port Kinsale burgee when I come in....

Regards,
Tom Russ
